Reznik Oleh Mykolaiovych was born on 7 August 1986 in the city of Sumy.

Doctor of Laws, Professor, Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine.

In 2008, he graduated from the National University of the State Tax Service of Ukraine (Irpin, Kyiv Region), Faculty of Tax Police, Specialist degree. Specialisation: law enforcement; qualification: lawyer (graduated with distinction).

In 2013, he graduated from Kyiv International University (Kyiv); postgraduate researcher at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law. Since 2014 – Candidate of Legal Sciences (PhD in Law).

In 2019, he completed his doctoral studies at Sumy State University; doctoral candidate at the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security. Since 2019 – Doctor of Laws.

Author of approximately 200 scientific publications.

2008-2013 – Senior Operative Officer for Particularly Important Cases, Tax Police Department of the State Tax Service in Sumy Region (Captain of the Tax Police).

Since 2013, he has been engaged in academic and teaching activities at Sumy State University.

2013-2016 – Senior Lecturer at the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security, Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, Sumy State University.

2014-2020 – Deputy Director for Research, Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, Sumy State University.

2016-2022 – Associate Professor at the Department of Administrative, Commercial Law and Financial and Economic Security, Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, Sumy State University (part-time).

Since 8 December 2020 – Secretary of the Sumy City Council.

On 4 May 2022, released from duties in connection with mobilisation to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Professional involvement in projects, grants, public events, and civic activities

2020 - Head of state-funded research project No. 0120U100474 (Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine competition for young scientists) on “Development of a methodology for

interaction between Ukrainian law enforcement agencies in counteracting the legalisation of criminal proceeds”.

In 2020, elected to the Council of Young Scientists under the Sumy Regional State Administration.

2018-2020 – Recipient of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine scholarship for young scientists.

2018-2020 – Principal executor of state-funded research project No. 0116U006814 (MES Ukraine competition for young scientists) on “Improvement of the system of law enforcement agencies to ensure the financial and economic security of Ukraine”.

2019 - Individual grant for scientific internship: Bulgaria, Varna Free University named after Chernorizets Hrabar, “Discussion within Module 4: Coordination of interaction between the state, business, and science”.

In 2018 and 2019 – Laureate of the All-Ukrainian competition “Young Lawyer of the Year” in the “Young Scientist” nomination.

2017 - Member of the working group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activities for drafting the Law of Ukraine “On the Financial Police” (on a voluntary basis).

2017 - Head of two social action projects implemented within the “Active Citizens” programme supported by the British Council in Ukraine under Agreement No. G10/01/17-01: “Legal Education of Senior School Pupils” (Sumy) and “Enhancing Legal Awareness of Residents of Sumy District with Experts from Sumy State University”.

2017 - Individual grant for scientific internship “Ukraine 2030 – Challenges and Prospects” in the Dolomite Alps, Italy (organised by the Institute of International Academic and Scientific Cooperation (IIASC) jointly with the Polish ADD Foundation).

2016-2018 – Head of state-funded research project No. 0116U006814 (MES Ukraine competition for young scientists) on “Improvement of the system of law enforcement agencies to ensure the financial and economic security of Ukraine”.

2015-2019 – Head of the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, and Young Scientists of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law, Sumy State University.
