Complaints Policy

The Editorial Board of the “Philosophy, Economics and Law Review” adheres to the principles of transparency and efficiency in dispute resolution. We handle every enquiry constructively, guided by the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Submission Procedures and Requirements

All proposals or complaints should be sent to the journal's official email address. For a submission to be properly considered, it must be:

  • Specific and concise: clearly describing the essence of the issue.
  • Substantiated: containing evidence or data confirming a breach of publication ethics.
  • Documented: including copies of correspondence or other relevant materials where available.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to disregard submissions expressed in an abusive, threatening, or defamatory manner. Personal grievances that do not pertain to professional conduct or ethics may be rejected, with reasons provided.

Processing Timelines

  • Initial response: acknowledgement of receipt will be sent within 3 working days.
  • Formal review: matters are typically resolved within 30 working days.
  • Complex cases: should an investigation require external expertise or additional verification, the timeframe may be extended. The complainant will be notified accordingly.

Appeals Procedure

If the complainant disagrees with the decision of the Editorial Board, they have the right to an appeal:

  • Lodging an appeal: an appeal must be submitted within 15 working days of receiving the formal decision.
  • Review mechanism: to ensure an impartial review, the Editor-in-Chief may appoint an independent committee or consult Editorial Board members who were not involved in the initial assessment.
  • Final decision: the decision reached following the appeal is final and is not subject to further challenge within the journal’s internal processes.
